For those considering sponsorship

Recurring monthly support provides essential resources and services while giving you the opportunity to connect and see the impact of your generosity.
Your sponsorship continues for as long as the participant, school, community, or children’s home is in the program, or until you choose to end it.

We have a fun system that allows you to celebrate your sponsored child on their Birthday if you choose. We will send you a list of needs that the child has along with the cost — like a backpack, school supplies or personal hygiene items, for example. Then you choose which of the items you’d like to purchase for your sponsored child, and we purchase and present it to the child and take a picture of them receiving their gift to send back to you. We provide a fun gift for each child that is not a need as well. ❤️
This system ensures that all students receive equal treatment and helps us to avoid any favoritism issues. Additionally, sending gifts from the US is costly, and we currently do not have an efficient way to get them to Guatemala.
Yes! We absolutely love it when sponsors come to visit the school and meet the child they sponsor. It is such a wonderful experience for everyone. If you have the opportunity, we definitely encourage you to visit. We will arrange your trip and accommodations. If you’re interested in scheduling a trip to Liberty Christian Academy, please let us know.
If a participant leaves the program, we’ll notify you and transfer your sponsorship to another participant. You may also pause or end your sponsorship at any time.
Liberty Christian Academy does not hold open registration at the beginning of each year. Instead, we focus on finding the most vulnerable girls in our community who normally would not be attending the local free public school due to their destitute situations at home. Many of our students, starting at the young age of 3, under normal conditions, would have to stay home to work making fireworks. Or students as young as 5 would stay home to watch their younger siblings while their parents work.
These are the families we seek out to support, love on, and convince that their daughters’ well-being and education is important and that they don’t have to repeat the cycle of poverty and abuse that has consumed their family for generations.
This means that keeping many of our little girls in school once they are registered is a challenge.
We have to frequently meet with parents and work with them to build relationships and educate them on the importance of keeping their daughters in school.
We have seen parents completely opposed to the idea, who didn’t want anything to do with the school, by some miracle, agree to let us enroll their daughters. Then we watch those mothers’ hearts slowly change to where they are now even volunteering to help at school.
Unfortunately, we can’t win every battle and sometimes parents choose to remove their children from our school.
Yes! You may share photos, but use only their first name and avoid any identifying details to protect their safety.
Please communicate only through our approved channels. If contacted directly, do not reply and let us know so we can guide the next steps.
Because we desire to be a hand up and not a hand out, and because we are working to encourage parents to take responsibility for their child’s well-being, we do charge a very small amount monthly for tuition. It’s the equivalent of a couple dollars a month and doesn’t put a dent in our operational costs. It is simply a means to involve and educate our parents.
Families also have the option of volunteering at school for a couple of hours a month instead of paying tuition. This is a great way to get mothers on campus, give them community amongst people who support what they are doing by sending their children to school, and get them involved in the workshops we offer parents for counseling, group therapy, or to learn a skill that will aid in their daily lives.
